CeMAP resits and pass guarantees
Failing a CeMAP unit is common and fixable: you can book a resit straight away for £120. Before you pay for a course because it has a pass guarantee, check what the guarantee covers. The ones we read give you more training, not your money back or your resit fee.
From Walbrook's CeMAP page, the qualification specification (version 14), exam information and FAQs, and each provider's own pages, linked below. We have no arrangement with any provider here. Checked 6 November 2026.
Walbrook's resit rules
- Cost: £120 per unit. The first sitting of every unit comes with your registration.
- When: no waiting period. Book and pay in MyLIBF, then sit it remotely at any time, as before.
- How many: up to three exam attempts in a week and ten in any 12 months.
- Feedback: an analysis sheet in MyLIBF shows where you dropped marks. Results enquiries within 10 working days.
- Deadline: registration lasts 18 months for the full qualification, 12 months per module.
Before you book the resit
Use the analysis sheet to find the topics that cost you marks, and work on those rather than rereading everything. Then sit a timed mock under exam conditions: if you're clearing the pass mark with a few marks to spare, book the resit.
For FRE1, our free mock marks you by learning outcome, the same way the syllabus is set out, and the drill lets you practise one outcome at a time. If case studies were the problem, the case-study guide covers how to work through linked questions.

Pass rates
Walbrook doesn't publish CeMAP pass rates. Some course providers quote their own students' rates, around 90%, without saying how they count them, so treat those as marketing rather than a measure of how hard the exam is. Our guide to how hard CeMAP is covers what actually trips people up.
Questions
- I failed CeMAP once. Is there a revision course with a pass guarantee?
- Some courses have one, but read what it promises. uAcademy extends your access by 12 months, Clarity lets you return to its live training, and cemap123's classroom courses let you come back to the part you failed. None of the guarantees we read pays Walbrook's £120 resit fee or refunds the course, so a resit costs the same either way.
- How much is a CeMAP resit?
- £120 per unit, paid to Walbrook Institute London (formerly LIBF). Your first sitting of each unit is included in the registration fee; every attempt after that is a resit.
- How soon can I resit a CeMAP exam?
- Walbrook doesn't set a waiting period. You book the resit in MyLIBF and pay the fee, then sit it remotely whenever you're ready. The limits are three exam attempts in a week and ten in any 12 months.
- Do I get feedback if I fail?
- Yes. Walbrook provides an analysis sheet in MyLIBF showing how you did across the syllabus. If you think the result is wrong, a results enquiry has to be made within 10 working days of getting it.
- What if my registration runs out before I pass?
- Registration lasts 18 months for the full qualification, or 12 months for a module bought on its own, and you can sit exams until it expires. Walbrook doesn't say on its pages what an extension costs, so contact it before the date if you're running short.
